Xabi Alonso set for first coaching role at Real Madrid

Xabi Alonso is set to rejoin his former club Real Madrid as he begins his coaching career at one of the club’s youth teams. According to Marca, Alonso will head straight for a role at Real Madrid’s Valdabebas academy having completed all possible coaching qualifications. Alonso has previously stated that he'd love to manage Liverpool, saying: “Yes for sure, I have dreamt of that, but first I have to prove myself and prepare. “If I decide somewhere along the way to take my chances as a manager, my link, my commitment, my passion with Liverpool is there. “Why not? We will see if we can cross paths in our ways.”
