Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is eager to recall Wojciech Szczesny from Roma.
The 67-year-old specialist sees the Pole as a replacement for wantaway goalkeeper David Ospina.
According to The Sun, should the Gunners club be unsuccessful in their to bring back the resurgent Polish stopper, Wenger would need to either look elsewhere or promote Emiliano Martinez to No2.
The London club paid £3.2m to sign Ospina – who still has two years on his contract – from Nice in 2014.
However, the club are unlikely to stand in his way and are now seemingly open to offers.
