Tottenham's 2018 pre-season plans

The transfer window is open for business and there will, of course, be a number of incomings and outgoings this summer at Tottenham. Toby Alderweireld is the name most mentioned with the exit door at Tottenham.  Spurs are likely to sell player this summer due to the clause in his contract which means that if the club triggers the extra year in his deal then he can leave next summer for £25m before the final two weeks of that 2019 window. Other potential exits include Mousa Dembele, with talk of a deal with Inter Milan. Danny Rose’s future could depend on his World Cup displays for England. Tottenham’s chief scout Steve Hitchen is an expert in French football and its Ligue 1 and the club will look at a number of players from the league this summer. Bordeaux's Brazilian winger Malcom is one player that club are expected to go back in for this summer.  There is one Frenchman on English shores, Anthony Martial, that Pochettino covets. There is also Fulham teen sensation Ryan Sessegnon (18), although a loan-back deal now seems the only way to sign the winger after his club's promotion to the Premier League. While older players will be looked at, with Perisic and Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes among those the club may follow up previous interest on, Pochettino loves the challenge of developing younger players. The players are expected to return to pre-season training at Hotspur Way on July 2. Spurs fly out to the USA on Monday, July 23 for their International Champions Cup matches across Atlantic. They play AS Roma first on July 25 in San Diego, then Barcelona in Los Angeles on July 28 and finish the tour with a match against AC Milan on July 31 in Minneapolis.
