Southampton boss threatens Liverpool plans for Shaqiri
Southampton are ready to sign Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri.
Liverpool have been linked with a swoop but it could be Southampton, managed by the Switzerland star's manager at Stoke Mark Hughes, who end up getting him instead.
Transfer expert Ian McGarry told the Daily Star Transfer Podcast: “Shaqiri to my information is going to be available for around £8m after Stoke's relegation, that could go up to £12m in add-ons.
“His wages are not that high either, but I suspect he would be paid around £100,000 to £120,000-a-week at Anfield.
“There's interest from Southampton, where of course he might consider because he would play more regularly."
The Daily Record's Duncan Castles added: "He's a player Liverpool have tried to sign in the past.
