OFFICIAL: Sergio Romero confirms he is staying at Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has confirmed that he will stay at Old Trafford for the upcoming season, Goal.com has reported. Romero joined Manchester United from Sampdoria back in 2015 and made 38 appearances for the club, with just seven of those coming in the Premier League. Despite rumors about is exit, Romero has officially announced that he will stay at Manchester United. “I am staying with Manchester United for now. Jose Mourinho has worked very hard for my renewal until 2022 and I can’t leave him now,” Romero explained to TyC Sports on Saturday. “If United have an offer that is useful for the club, they will sell me. But I don’t think that will happen,” Romero said. “Sampaoli and the coaching staff had a different time frame, they wanted someone who could be there everyday and I was taken off the list in four hours. My career with the national team isn’t yet over, I am working on my return,” he said.
