Sergio Ramos 'facing semi-final ban'

Sergio Ramos is reportedly at risk of missing the first leg of Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final after breaching UEFA protocol in the 3-1 defeat to Juventus.

The centre-back was suspended for the quarter-final second leg on Wednesday night, which saw the reigning champions survive a major scare to progress through on away goals. Ramos left his position in the Bernabeu stands to stand near the touchline for the final few minutes of the match, however, and was involved in an altercation with Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri prior to Madrid's last-gasp goal. According to Sky Sports News, the Spaniard breached UEFA regulation Article 15, stating that players cannot participate in a game for which they are ineligible. UEFA are reportedly awaiting referee Michael Oliver's report, and Ramos faces the prospect of a one-match ban - the same punishment Xabi Alonso received for a similar incident in 2014 when entering the pitch to celebrate a goal in the final.
