Russia Warns CSKA Fans to ‘Behave With Dignity’ ahead of Arsenal match in London

The Russian Embassy in London has warned its compatriots to “behave with our inherent dignity” during CSKA Moscow football club’s key match with Arsenal this week. Arsenal hosts CSKA Moscow in London for the first leg of a Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night. “In order to avoid provocations against Russians, we urge you to avoid conflict situations with the authorities and local residents, to behave with our inherent dignity,” the Russian Embassy in the U.K. said in an online statement Saturday. The Russian Embassy also advised Russians to think twice before travelling to Britain, "We can't rule out increased attention by British law enforcement agencies and intelligence services to Russian passport holders," the embassy said. It has been reported that extra police and stewards will be on duty at the Emirates to stamp out any potential clashes between notorious Russian fans and Arsenal supporters on Thursday. "We will follow all guidance, and have a zero tolerance policy during the first leg next Thursday, and then in the return leg in Moscow on April 12," he said. "We will give guidelines to our fans, and we are confident things will go all right.But we won't accept any abuse of either fans or players," Arsenal spokesman stated.
