The arrival of former Sevilla sporting director Monchi saw instant transfer activity from Roma, as the club has reportedly agreed a deal with Atalanta’s young sensation Franck Kessie.
Sky Sports Italia informs that Atalanta and Roma have reached a €30m deal agreement for “the new Yaya Toure”, however the player himself demands higher wages.
The player asks for a salary of €2m per year, but Roma are willing to give just €1.2m plus bonuses.
Monchi discussed the deal with Atlanta’s representatives in Milan last evening.
A number of Premier League clubs have been interested in the young Ivorian’s services, with Manchester United being top contender as the Kessie confessed of being a Red Devils supporter. The deal with Man Utd seems unlikely as the Premier League side have spent a lot of recourses for the team’s midfield area, naming Paul Pogba’s €110m move from Juventus, for instance.
