REPORTS: Mourinho confident of £40m midfielder move

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen on acquiring Bayern Munich midfielder Douglas Costa during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils manager communicated to the executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to work on the possible transfer of the Brazil international. The 27-year-old is currently featuring for Juventus on loan, and the reports claim that the Serie A side have the contract clause, which enables them to sign the winger after the current season. Douglas Costa has been a long-term target for the English Premier side and the manager wants to acquire the player before the start of the next season. The Brazil international has played in 35 games in all competitions of the current seasons, having scored three goals and assisted seven.
