Real Madrid released an official statement rejecting the reports of German magazine Spiegel, which claims the Madrid side made a 250 million euro offer for Barcelona striker Lionel Messi back in 2013.
According to the source, Real Madrid planned on paying the Argentinian an annual salary of 23 million euros with a contract until 2021.
Real Madrid refuted any such bid had ever been made.
"This information doesn't conform in any way to reality, it is totally false," they said.
It has also been reported that the meeting was not meant to be official, as they needed to meet up in a private jet with Lionel Messi and his father and agent Jorge Messi.
