Raul Navas apologises after unjuring Ousmane Dembele: The player could miss the World Cup

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele suffered a sprained ankle injury during club’s final La Liga match of the season. Dembele has already picked up a muscle injury in September just after joining the club. Then he picked up a minor muscle injury back in January which kept him out of the Barcelona matchday squad for a further month. Barcelona have released an official statement about the injury, which read: "The first team player Ousmane Dembélé has a sprained right ankle. In the next few days he will continue under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff. “The 21 year old French winger played 54 minutes of the game against Real Sociedad before being replaced due to the injury picked up in the first half following a challenge from Real Sociedad defender Raúl Navas in the first half of Sunday’s game at Camp Nou.” Sociedad defender Navas has also released a statement on social media and apologized for the incident. “To clarify what happened yesterday [Sunday]: It was a fast-paced game and I went in hard for the ball and unfortunately caught Dembele. It turned out to be a very ugly tackle –  [which is] unlike me. I never wanted to hurt him and I apologized twice during the game. I want to send a big hug to Dembélé. I hope he recovers soon. I hope to see him on the plane to the World Cup with his country,” he said.
