Real Madrid have officially appointed Jurgen Lopetegui as their new head coach on a three-year deal, BBC news reports. Former Porto manager, who now leads Spanish national team to the World Cup will take up the position after the tournament, which begins on 14 June. Real Madrid have been searching for a new coach to replace Zinedine Zidane after he decided to step down following his third successive Champions League win with Real Madrid. Lopetegui's strong relationship with Real's Spain internationals like Sergio Ramos and Isco will ensure he receives a warm internal welcome, “Real Madrid announce that Julen Lopetegui will be the coach of the first team during the next three seasons,” the club said in a statement. “Julen Lopetegui will join the club after Spain’s participation in the World Cup, after two years leading the national team.”
