Lorenzo Insigne could be on his way to Anfield after his reported wage demands of £100,000-a-week were turned down by the club.

The attacking midfielder, who can also operate as a forward, is valued at around £44m, a price tag which may have to be negotiated should the Premier League side continue their pursuit.

With Insigne on his way to Liverpool, Napoli are eyeing up a January swoop for Watford striker Odion Ighalo, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

The Nigerian international moved to the Hornets from Udinese in 2014 and has since scored 36 goals in 77 league matches, helping to guide Watford to a top-half of the table finish in the Premier League last season.
