Manchester City 2018/2019 Season preview: Transfers and Key man

The Premier League trophy holders will start their defence of the title on Sunday, with a trip to Emirates to face Unai Emery’s Arsenal. Manchester City are strength at the back. They have Ederson who is also comfortable with the ball at his fit and can quickly turn defence into attack. But Pep Guardiola’s club’s greatest strength is their creativity in midfield. However, the club has a weakness. Liverpool and Manchester United both proved last season that City’s defenders don’t always cope convincingly under pressure. Transfers In City have made only one major signing this summer – Riyad Mahrez for £60m from Leicester City. The Citizens’ only other signing is 21-year-old Dutch Philippe Sandler. Transfers Out Manchester City have sold, loaned out or released 11 players. Most of them are likely to be unfamiliar to many City fans- such as Mikkel Diskerud. One of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history Yay Toure has now been released by City. Key Man Kevin De Bryune is arguably strongest candidate.  He has made 16 league assist last season-the highest in the Premier League. The Belgian also has a ferocious shot.
