Klopp provides injury updates, spokes on Firmino, Sturridge, Salah’s perceived lack of form and the MIRROR

Anfield was rocking on Tuesday night as the Champions League returned and Liverpool saw off PSG with a thrilling 3-2 victory. On Saturday, Jurgen Klopp's men are back in league action, looking to make it six wins from six when they face Southampton on Merseyside. Ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp faced the press. Firmino is ready to start a game Yes, he’s ready. Why should I think that about Bobby? Did I speak a lot about line-ups in the past? I don’t think so! Could Firmino and Sturridge play together? The impact Daniel had [against PSG] was only positive. Intense game, it was all good, fantastic game. Could they play together [alongside Firmino]? Yes, of course. Sturridge had minutes before that and trained well and had the rhythm and did well Klopp on Salah's perceived lack of form On a defensive side, the last two games from Mo were outstanding. That says everything about him. It’s normal for an offensive player that there are times when you don’t score. He is in a good shape. Finishing is something you never can take for granted. Of course, everybody expects [same as last year]. We don’t. What did he get [in first six] last season? Three. And two in six this season? Wow, that’s a crisis! He needed time last year like we all needed time. And he will take time this season as well. Can Liverpool win all four trophies? How can we not want to win them? Of course, we want to win them. [But] It’s still early in the season. We’ve had a good start. That’s all. Klopp on his 600th game I only see the difference when I look in the mirror, inside nothing changes. There are better managers than me out there but it’s never stopped me from doing my best. What drives me? Never thought about that. 600? That’s a lot. That’s a nice number. I have no clue where I played game 500. I have a good life. I do what I love to do. I am sometimes lucky, sometimes unlucky. A call to be more clinical We have no lack of confidence at the moment. We were a bit lucky that Bobby decided the game [against PSG]. It was deserved, but that’s not a sign of anything. It happened. We have to make sure that we decide games much more often. The next one is the most difficult. No Danny Ings Everybody at Melwood loves Danny Ings. It’s good that he can’t play (against us) because he’s always a threat. We follow his games really closely. He’s still one of our boys. On Tuesday-Saturday It’s always difficult when one team plays during the week and one team doesn’t. Southampton played on Monday night, so at least it was only one game before us. Tuesday-Saturday shouldn’t be a problem. Klopp on Liverpool's post-Champions League encounters Finally, somebody comes with a negative! Tuesday-Saturday should not be a problem. It will not be a problem focus-wise, I am pretty sure. The people make a difference. We must show we can switch between competitions. This league doesn’t wait for you. If you want to be near the top, you have to win in the first game. It’s not important what we did last year. Nobody is tired at the moment. We will be ready for tomorrow. Praise for James Milner It’s not just this season, last year he had most assists in Champions League. Only in football, it sounds like 32 was a massive age. In all other parts of life, you are still young, and he is still young. He is a top professional and his body gives him a chance to do so. James is the best example for them (the squad). He is a very energetic boy and likes to cover big distances. He can play football, and that makes him a pretty valuable player. Klopp happy with defending from his side More important than the goals you concede is the number of shots against you. If you keep the other team away from your goal, that’s good defending. That’s what we do most of the time. Lovren getting better - but still absent Dejan is close. [He] Looks really fit. Fitness wise is on a really okay level. Better than average. He’s not in the squad for the weekend but we will see how soon we can try to involve him again. And the others who are close? Solanke trains today for the first time after concussion. Divock still feels his injury, maybe Sunday first session with the team. Adam Lallana gets closer and closer. Still doing rehab. Not too far away. Praise for 'outstanding' Ox He will always be a very important part of the squad because of the guy he is. We knew he was a good footballer, but could never have imagined what an outstanding person he is.
