Jurgen Klopp provides injury update on Oxlande-Chamberlain, spokes out on Manchester City, Sarri and Salah's form

Liverpool’s Sunday visit of the defending Premier League champions Manchester City is both clubs' seventh match in 23 days between the September and October international breaks. Ahead of the game, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp faced the press. Update on Naby Keita I’m not 100 per cent sure yet. Back spasm. We have to wait a bit. He will be in today, but I don’t know if he can do something. Didn’t look too serious, so there’s a chance but we don’t know. Klopp on Ox Oxlade-Chamberlain is not to be replaced, that is key. I cannot think about him at the moment, unfortunately. We had similar situations with these little runs, in between winning the ball and being spot on. We are desperate to have him back, better sooner than later. Klopp on last season's City games & the title I don’t think it makes sense at this moment to think about the title. Man City is always tough, even when we won 3-0 in the Champions League. In the 4-3 they were really good. Before that they had 60 games in a row. They never gave up even at 4-1 down. How can Liverpool beat City? We have to be spot on. At our best to keep them away from our goal and creating chances in front of our goal. It will be hard work, no problem with that, everybody knows it. On Napoli and what went wrong Yes and yes. The timing wasn’t good in the defence, we didn’t adapt to what they did in the right way. After the game, it felt much more clear that they deserved to win. Timing was not good because we felt under pressure when we were not under it. We had a few wrong decisions where we could have played left, not right, there was a lot of times which was close to being good but no real perfect decision. We had three days and make the boys aware of what was wrong - but I won’t forget how we played against Chelsea. We have to stay cool. Desperate to react... We want to show a reaction. I didn’t want to lose at Napoli but if you ask the best preparation mood-wise, it’s losing a game. We felt it now, we don’t want to have that feeling again. Klopp on Milner When he looks back on his career he will think about the season he played at left-back when he learned a lot about football. I was completely open. He was not in, he was still with England, but after that, it was clear he was a very versatile player. When people say it’s a workhorse it’s a compliment - he is naturally fit, and athlete. Klopp on Napoli again...and Chelsea! It was very intense, in the detail different but in general similar (Napoli and Chelsea). The boys were always there, even against Chelsea in the cup, but this was not a good game. We lost the game a little and we never came back. The first half-hour in the second half was a completely open game, not high quality, but if we go 1-0 up no one goes against it. We had the worst defending moment in the 89th minute and they used it. I saw a lot of worse games in my life where we get a point but it was a fair result. Klopp knows City will be tough We beat City three times last season and not once after any of those games did we go into the dressing room and think ‘now we know how to beat them’. On City's form We will analyse after the press conference but Pep said they are playing better. How can I say something different? It’s not for me to compare. An outstanding side, that’s obvious, I’m not the right person to talk about anything else. Klopp and Sarri - kindred spirits If we win at the end, then I’ll enjoy the City game. I had it last week at the end of Chelsea, Sarri saw me smiling and said ‘you enjoy that’ and I said ‘yes, I do’. The most important job is entertaining the people. It’s not the biggest thing, we do not save lives. How good do Reds need to beat City? We need to be 100% if not 110% to beat City. Klopp on Salah's form Expectation changed that’s normal, he set a new standard. Nobody expected 10 goals after five, six, seven games. Each striker could write a book about these moments, scoring without knowing how. It’s so rare. 98% of a striker is the hardest work, 2% is the easy going stuff. The only thing which has changed is the kind of questions you have asked. It was a surprise, now it isn’t. That’s the world. If I win games, I know everything. If I lose three in a row, I know nothing. Both are not true. I’m relaxed about that.
