Javier Zanetti speaks out on club’s Champions League return
Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti has spoken about club’s return to Champions League after 7 seasons of absence.
Nerazzurri will meet Tottenham for first match.
“We were drawn in a very tough group, but we have the enthusiasm and conviction that we can compete with everyone in it,” Zanetti said(via Football Italia).
“I’m proud to participate in this event, just as I’m proud to have been part of the Inter team who won the Treble.
“They were a team who wrote an important page of our history. Now we’re back in the Champions League again after several years. We’re back where we belong.
“Now we’ll focus on the match against Parma on Saturday afternoon and then the many more commitments that await us.” he added.
Zanetti was captain of his team in 2009/10 season when Nerazzurri last won UEFA Champions League title.
