James Milner:”It was a dangerous game”

Liverpool has won the Premier League opening game against West Ham United with 4-0 score. The Reds midfielder James Milner was delighted they passed with a stylish performance. “It was a dangerous fixture,” the vice-captain told Liverpoolfc.com. “With the new signings they’ve made, they are a strong team, with a new manager who has got an experience of winning the Premier League. “So it wasn’t going to be easy but it says a lot about the boys and where we’re at. It was a tough pre-season and a good start. A few of the lads have not been back that long either. “So it was pleasing; we can improve, we know that. But a few goals, a clean sheet at home and a win is pretty much the perfect start to the season.” “Of course we could, we know that,” the 32-year-old replied to the question where Liverpool could have improved. “But sometimes that comes with a bit of fatigue, the decision-making in the final third and the last bit of quality when it’s the first game of the season. You’re not quite at 100 per cent fitness. “The pleasing signs are that’s the criticism – you’ll take that any day of the week after the first game of the season.”
