Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta is sure that Thierry Henry can be a good replacement for Arsene Wenger, as was Pep Guardiola in Barcelona.
“I know Thierry loves Arsenal. He is a very responsible and serious guy. He has similarities with Guardiola. He already has all abilities to become the manager of Arsenal.” Laporta said.
Guardiola was the first choice in 2008, when Laporta rejected Mourinho to give Catalan a chance. Guardiola won 2 Champions League titles and 3 La Liga title to become one of the most successful and innovative managers in the world.
“He knows football, he knows Arsenal. People like Henry don’t need much time to become great managers. I don’t know about the mentality of Arsenal management staff, but they should be innovative and sign Thierry” Laporta added.
Joan Laporta was Catalan side’s president from 2003 to 2010. He was the man to buy Ronaldinho, from whom the successful period of Barcelona started.
