Golovkin: ”In 2004, I thought Vanes Martirosyan was the best boxer on the U.S. Olympic team”

Gennady Golovkin, unified middleweight world champion will take on Vanes Martirosyan on May 5 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Golovkin, 36, Kazakhstan native fighting has talked about his late substitute opponent Vanes Martirosyan. “I remember him from the 2004 Olympics. I know he is not easy. Vanes is a strong and active fighter in the ring. He is a good fighter. Vanes is real guy. A real fighter. In 2004, I thought Vanes was the best boxer on the U.S. Olympic team,” Golovkin told ESPN.
