Goalkeepers express criticism towards WC-2018 match ball design

Top national team goalkeepers David De Gea (Spain), Pepe Reina (Spain) and Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen (Germany) expressed their disappointment with the way the official World Cup-2018 match ball Adidas Telstar-18 performs.

"I bet you as much as you like that we'll see at least 35 goals from long range [in Russia], because it's impossible to work out," Spain goalkeeper Pepe Reina told AS, highlighting the fact that its not too late to change the match ball design. . "And it's covered in a plastic film that makes it difficult to hold on to. "They should change it - there's still time." "Goalkeepers are going to have a lot of problems with this ball," he concluded. "It's really strange," added Spain and Manchester United main goalkeeper David De Gea. "It could have been made a lot better." Germany international Marc-Andre Ter-Stegen also shared his opinion, "The ball could be better; it moves a lot. But I think we're just going to have to get used to working with it, and try to get to grips with it as quickly as possible before the World Cup starts. "We've got no other option," he concluded, his opinion being the opposite of Reina's.
