Germany legend Lothar Matthaus claims Mesut Ozil exit will not be noticed

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus doesn’t think football federation of Germany have ever showed a racial attitude towards a single player. Mesut Ozil announced about retirement from national team after being accused for being pictured with Turkey president Recep Erdogan. Ozil said: “I’m German when we win, I’m Turkish, when we lose”. However, Mattheus thinks Ozil haven’t shown his best plays for Germany and the team will not miss him. “We have so many influences from outside Germany and we have said welcome to all the world for many years. “Mesut was playing in the national team for ten years, Sami Khedira, Jerome Boateng, Serge Gnabry...so many influences from outside.” He said (via The Sun) “So we don’t have a problem, but Mesut has a problem with his retirement. “His time to play in the national team is over and not because of some picture or political decisions. “I don’t care about all that. It doesn’t matter. I just see the football player and he didn’t perform like he did before. “Mesut did a good job for Germany for many years but in the last year and a half he didn’t have the same performances as he did against Brazil and Argentina when we won the World Cup in 2014.”
