Former Chelsea boss contacted Florentino Perez over Real Madrid job

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as Florentino Perez contacted him over starting negotiations, according to reports. Real Madrid failed to win any of their last four matches, which included a 3-0 humbling at the hands of Sevilla as well as losing away to CSKA Moscow in Europe. And now Real Madrid head coach Julen Lopetegui has got only three games to turn things around. Nevertheless, both Sportitalia and Corriere dello Sport report that Real are already preparing for Lopetegui’s departure and are putting plans in place to appoint Conte. Conte has himself lately expressed a wish to take over at the Bernabeu in a meeting with club officials on Monday. Real Madrid will face Levante in La Liga, then Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League, before a testing Clasico at Camp Nou.
