FIFA to stop paying for Diego Maradona World Cup trip

FIFA decided to discard the partnership with Argentina legend Diego Maradona due to the latter's unacceptable behavior during Nigeria vs Argentina clash.

The 57-year-old was part of the legend pool formed by FIFA, members of which are getting paid to attend the World Cup match, and their trip expenses are being reimbursed as well. Diego Maradona was getting €11.000 for each World Cup match he would attend. The partnership is now cancelled, however, the 1986 World Cup champion will be attending the France vs Argentina clash at Kazan Arena. Let's recall that Diego Maradona made several disrespectful gestures towards the opponents after Argentina scored the winner against Nigeria. FIFA have warned the 57-year-old that in case of a repetition of such a behavior, the former striker will be banned from attending World Cup 2018 matches.
