On the evening of November 28, 2016, Chapecoense FC were heading to Colombia to face the biggest ever challenge in their lives. The club from a small Brazilian town Chapeco reached the finals of Copa Sudamericana where they were supposed to face Colombian side Atletico Nacional.
However, that final never happened. The charter flight crashed some 18 km away from Medellin airport. 71 people died in the accident, including 21 journalists and the majority of Chapecoense staff. Only 6 people survived.
Later on, COMNEBOL awarded the Copa Sudamericana title to Chapecoense with the initial agreement with Atletico Nacional, who gently agreed to the proposal.
Now, one year after the accident, FIFA released a documentary about Chapecoense and the life after the crash.
