Lierse and Armenia national team forward Ivan Yagan has spoken about his invitation to national team, to VivaroNews Sport. How you were invited to Armenia national team? I had message on whatsupp from Hrach. He said he worked for national team and wanted me to join national team if I want. And I said of course I want. He said that I would be selected for the matches. I didn’t know who Hrach was, I didn’t actually believe, but then I got the invitation and I was happy. I told my wife, my family and everyone were happy. Did you have other selections for national team? No I didn’t have. When I was young, I was in Belgium selection. I was 16 years old, but after that I had no offers from other national teams. How much do you know about Armenia? Have you ever been before the invitation? I came one time to play. I came to play with young team, it was training, not a match. It was a very good experience. My family know Yerevan, they have come here before. Me and my wife also wanted to come before. I hope in the future I will come to Armenia with my wife for holidays. You met Henrikh Mkhitaryan and other teammates for the first time. What emotions did you have? The first time when I came, I didn’t know players very well, because I’ve never come here. It was easy for me, because players were good to me. It was easy for me. I’m a person who speaks Armenian a little bit and it was easy due to this fact. When I came, Henrikh said I can ask anything I want. He also speaks French. He’s a very good guy, he’s the best player of Armenia. Have you ever imagined you’ll score in your first match for national team? To tell the truth, I like to score. I knew I would have a chance to score. It’s not surprise that I scored but I enjoyed it very much and I know my family is happy for me. It’s very good to start like this. I don’t hink about scoring. I’m thinking about helping the team. I think about helping team to win the match. If I think about only scoring, I will not be good. What were difficulties against Malta? We played good in first 20 minutes. What was missing? We played very good, we were controlling the match, we had to score second and finish, but they scored. It was one minute before Half time when they scored. And after that we were so much thinking about scoring and we made some mistakes. What kind of goals do you prefer to score? If it’s a goal, it’s good for me, even if it is scored by hand. I just want to make goal. I’m not individual player, I work on team. We must win at first. Your favourite football team and player. And why you like them? I look everybody. Eden Hazard, Neymar, Mbappe, Zidane. I like offensive players. My favourite team is Real Madrid.
