Welcome to Armenian national team. Please introduce how you begun your journey with the national team, how did you get the invitation to the Armenian national team? Thank you. Well, I think I started last year, I got the first one and I think it was like someone from Whatsapp or Instagram that just wrote to me and I didn’t know if it was serious or joke and then this year more and more people started sending, I didn’t know who to trust or who to answer [laughs] but then I got a contact with a guy. He organized everything and it went really quickly. So it was fun. First I got really proud and talk my family well really proud as well so it’s nice to be here. When you were young did you get other invitations or did you think playing for other national teams? I was born in Sweden and I have played for their national team for U19. I didn’t get more after that. Last time that I played for a national team and was also in Austria it was with the Sweden U19. So tell us what do you know about Armenia, Yrevan or the Armenian national team ? I have seen few games especially the one that they were really close to qualify to the European qualification. Of course I know some players, like Henrikh but otherwise I didn’t know that much. But when I was got called I started looking more and more. Do you know Armenian former national team player Levon Bachajyan, he was playing in Sweden. Have you had an opportunity to meet him ? No I haven’t met him but I have heard a lot about him. Tell us about your first day at the Armenian National Team. What was your first impression? Who was guiding you, how did they welcome you? The first impression was really good because everything was really organized and professional. And the teammates had a really warm welcoming, everybody was nice and kind. It felt like a family. What can you tell about the game against Malta? Of course we should’ve won the game but they made it really hard for us and they played very compact.They were trying more to destroy our game then they were playing theirs. What are your expectations about the game against Moldova? Before Malta game I played our last game with Sweden so I was bit tired because I had only 2 days off. I don’t know yet if I will play against Moldova. It’s up to coach to decide. What’s your preferred position on the field? I prefer playing as a central defender. In our team we play with 3 central defenders but wherever the coach tells me to play I will listen. What can you tell us about your club? I have just signed a contract with the club IFK Göteborg.It’s really big and it has a lot of fans.I am playing a lot of games now and it feels like I have a big role in the team so now it’s good for me and I am developing my game. But of course like all other players we dream of playing in the biggest European clubs Who was your idol when you were a child and what is your favorite football team ? Oh hard question [smiles]. I will probably say Xavi Hernandez. I really like the way he plays, he is really calm with the ball and he has a good vision on the field. I don’t really have a favorite team but I do watch a lot of Spanish football.
