Emery speaks out on Welbeck’s future
Unai Emery considers Danny Welbeck an important player for his team due to his ability to play in different positions.
England national team player was linked with a loan move this summer, with the contract finishing next summer.
Emery won’t be against the exit of Welbeck, as the latest may want a regular time on the pitch. In Arsenal Welbeck is the 3rd choice forward after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
However, Emery loves the fact that he can use Danny in several positions.
Danny is one of our players who has a multi-position possibility, as a right winger, left winger and striker, and I like this spirit,” Emery told Independent.
“And for me it’s clear. On Thursday the transfer window closed and Welbeck will stay with us.
“I said to him when he arrived with us after the holidays that I want the best performance in his career from him. And he has to work for that, he has the possibility of playing as a left winger, right winger or striker.” Emery added.
