Conte would not swap Costa for Lukaku

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte denied the rumors about wanting Everton striker Romelu Lukaku to join Chelsea at any cost.

“As I’ve said before, for me my players are the best in the world. I wouldn’t change my players with any other players,” the Italian told his press conference ahead of the Everton clash.

“I think that Lukaku for sure is a really good player, he’s scoring a lot of goals this season. You have to pay him great attention but it’s always the same, we study the opponent and we try to find the best solution to stop them, about single players and about the team.

“Yes we must pay great attention to Lukaku, but also Everton’s other players. They have a lot of good players with good technique,” the manager added.

Romelu Lukaku has previously been linked to the Blues, following his constant hints on Everton leave.

The Belgium international has played in 33 EPL games during the current season, having scored 24 goals and assisted six times.

Diego Costa, in turn, has netted 19 goals and assisted 7 in 31 games played in the domestic league.
