Man City kick off talks with Tottenham over a fee for Walker

City are closing in on a £40m deal for Monaco defender

Manchester City have kicked off talks with Tottenham over a fee for Kyle Walker.

According to The Mirror, City have made their move for Walker.

Talks have been opened between the two clubs for the fullback for whom the north Londoners will not accept less than £50 million.

It is understood Kieran Trippier has signed a new, five-year deal worth £65,000-a-week at the club to become 27-year-old’s successor next season.

Trippier finished last season as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice after Walker’s relationship with the London club head coach deteriorated irreparably.
