Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers admitted in the press conference ahead of Alashkert game that when he was Liverpool's coach, he wanted to buy Armenian national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
" In 2013 i had a phone call with Mkhitaryan. I was interested in him, i wanted to bring him to Liverpool. But he signed for Dortmund. Maybe he thought that he was not physically ready for premier League and decided to spend some seasons in Bundesliga," told Rodgers to
VivaroNews.
"He is a fantastic and hardworking player. One of the top players in Europe," later he added.
