Battle of Managers. BPL Title Race Powers Up

So here we stand, the new season has successfully announced its launch with some really noteworthy fixtures. And this year, as we already know, some EPL teams have got reinforced with famous managers that are desperate and really confident in what they do for the title race. And by talking about managers we can’t miss mentioning such names as Jose Mourinho who came to Manchester United some time later after being sacked by Chelsea, Antonio Conte with Chelsea, whose Italy side has played some great games at the EUROS and Pep Guardiola is now in charge of Manchester City after his brilliant spell in Bundesliga. And only these managers have shown 100% result in the three games since the season has begun.

Guardiola has beaten West Ham at home with score 31, Stoke in away game with crashing 14 and Sunderland at Etihad stadium with a 21. The fans are feeling confident with Pep in charge and seem to be convinced that this time City will achieve more. Raheem Sterling looks much more effective with the new manager and in his three appearances has scored two goals and assisted one for the team. A noteworthy transfer Pep has made was signing Ilkay

Gündoğan from Borussia Dortmund and the fans are waiting to see him play. Claudio Bravo, the goalkeeper from Barcelona is now at City going parallel with the speculations of Joe Hart leaving the club. In any case Guardiola seems to be self-assured with his new team and is successfully struggling in the title race.

To speak about Guardiola’s long-time rival, Jose Mourinho looks quite strong and standing tall with the reds now. Speaking about his summer signings, Manchester United is the team which has made such transfers during this summer window that really no other club could afford itself. Jose has signed a young center-back Eric Bailly from Villarreal who has played in all 3 BPL matches and already more than once was named the player of the match. Jose’s next signing is Armenia international and former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan who has spent an outstanding season in the German club with lots of goals and assists. Although the player is regularly being benched and plays only last 15 minutes of the game, the fans are desperate of seeing him on the pitch, and as they say “want to see him making his magic”.

Already called as “Maestro”, Henrikh is waiting for his chance to prove himself as a Red devil. By the time Jose joined United, lots of speculations were speaking about Juan Mata leaving the club, and some rumors were saying that the Spaniard is linked with Everton and most likely is going to join them. This speculations were based on the fact that when Jose joined Chelsea, Mata lost his starting place and joined United. Howbeit, as appears Mata has his regular place at the right wing and starts every game, while Mkhitaryan follows matches from the bench. Jose has already spoken about this by saying “Henrikh is a fantastic player and he has nothing to prove, he will have his time”.

Another transfer which has shocked the world was Paul Pogba’s return. He was signed for a record braking £90m fee. Pogba was wanted by Real Madrid but after signing for the Reds he has clearly said that Manchester is his home, and he wasn’t thinking of joining any other club. He played two games and seems to feel comfortable on the pitch, making dribbles, sending the ball through the opposition defensive lines, creating chances, etc… The last thing to mention about United’s summer shopping is the reunion of old friends Jose and Zlatan Ibrahimović. It is known that they both don’t like Guardiola and the most interesting thing upcoming is the next fixture which is the famous Manchester derby that is going to take place at Old Trafford on Saturday. This will be the game which will put a dot in their winning series and will change the positioning of these clubs on the table.

Mourinho has clearly said that the goal he is chasing is not finishing in first 4, not performing better than Van Gaal did before him and nothing else, he said “our goal is to win the title, to be the first”. And so far, his actions show that it is not just possible but is quite real.

There were lots of transfer gossips about many Leicester players after their heroic season. Vardy, Mahrez and many others were reportedly linked with different big clubs, and it was expected that many of them will leave the club. However the only man that has been expected to leave and actually got transferred was N’Golo Kante who joined Conte’s Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge. As expected, the France international is performing well and has played 3 games in which he has seemed to be just as classy as we like. Conte has played some great games at Euro 2016 with Italy and was actually the spirit of the team, a little emotional and active, this manager has taken charge of Chelsea and is doing pretty well. Fans and players have lots of expectations, mostly after not the best season of the club staying both without Champions League and Europa League.

Last man to speak about is the less successful than the abovementioned but the legendary, as they say, Arsene Wenger with Arsenal. One win against Watford, draw with Leicester and a defeat from Liverpool. Wenger has signed Takuma Asano, Rob Holding, Kelechi Nwakali and Granit Xhaka. The latter was playing well in EUROS. Currently the team lies 8th on table and the next game is going to be at home with Southampton on Saturday.

To say in the end, the season has started very interestingly and most likely is going to go under high pressure until the very end, needless to say, all fans and players have big expectations from their clubs this season, mostly those who have had some noticeable changes. After all, which is the most interesting League in football? Sure, it’s Barclay’s Premier league.
