Barcelona eye January swoop for Liverpool centre-back

Barcelona are preparing a January swoop for Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Spanish champions are believed to be in the market for a new centre-back due to the fact that Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen are both facing extended spells on the sidelines. Barcelona have now set their sights on Lovren, who impressed in Croatia's run to the final of the 2018 World Cup and could be available in early 2019. Lovren's current contract with Liverpool will expire at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
