Arsenal Top 5 losers that amazingly succeed in different clubs

Former Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger had a talent of signing good players who then would become stars such as Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas. However, even Wenger  sometimes failed to succeed in the choice of new signings. Below are the names of former Arsenal players who were losers at the Emirates but then had great success in different clubs.
  1. Mathieu Debuchy
The French player joined Arsenal in 2014 as a replacement for Bacary Sagna. Despite his three and a half years’ stay at Arsenal he played only 30 matches. Debuchy was struggling for a first team spot for a long time as he was in race with Hector Bellerin for that playing position. In January 2018 Debuchy moved to Ligue 1 side Saint-Étienne. The France international  was so good in his new club that was even named as Ligue 1 best player of the month.
  1. Lassana Diara
Diara moved to the Emirates in 2007 from rival club Chelsea at the age of 22. During his stay at Arsenal Diara spent much time on the bench and then left the club only after 5 months to join Portsmouth. Diara won FA Cup with Portsmouth and then after a year he moved to Real Madrid and alongside Los Blancos he won La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Supercopa de Espana in his 117 appearances. In 2018 the player joined Ligue 1 side PSG where he won a number of trophies.
  1. Carlos Vela
Carlos Vela was awarded a Golden Boot in World Cup 2005 at the age of 17.  Due to his World Cup displays for Mexico Vela attracted many top clubs with Arsenal among them. The Mexican forward scored 11 goals in his 62 appearances for Arsenal before moving to West Bromwich Albion as a free agent. In 2011/12 season Vela joined Real Sociedad and started his strong partnership with Antonie Griezmann. Their partnership lasted for three years. He was also named the Best Player of the year. Carlos Vela is currently playing for Los Angeles FC.
  1. Oguzkhan Ozyakup
Turkey national team player Ozyakup played in Arsenal academy since 2008. The Turkish player’s debut came in 2011 in FA Cup match. However, Oguzkhan left Arsenal in 2012 to join Turkish side Besiktas where he scored 29 goals and made 52 assists in his 224 appearances. In his six seasons at Besiktas the player twice won Turkish Super Cup.
  1. Serj Gnabri
Many of Arsenal supporters still regret having lost Serj Gnabri. The player joined the Gunners from Stuttgart in 2011 and was called to senior club on the eve of 2012/13 season. At the end of 2013/14 season Gnabri had played 18 matches but he failed to repeat his success in the following year.  In 2015/16 season Gnabri moved to West Bromwich as a free agent and finally in 2016 in left Arsenal to join Bundesliga side Werder Bremen where he scored 11 goals in his 27 appearances. In 2017 Bayern Munich offered him a contract which was followed by another loan contract from Hoffenheim. Now he is back to Bayern Munich and is highly regarded as one of their key players.
