Arsenal targeting Sokratis Papastathopoulos as part of new back five

Arsene Wenger announced that he will leave the club after 22 year. The Gunners don’t have a manager for next season but they are starting to find a whole new back five to replace this season’s failed defence. The list of targets for the summer including Jan Oblak and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid played so well at the Emirates, but the 25-year-old would cost close to £70m and he may be an unrealistic target for Arsenal. Meanwhile, Arsenal close in on Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintant is the man pushing for the deal and that he is in “close contact” with Sokratis’s agent Konstantinos Farras.
