Part of Arsenal pre-season campaign to take place in Africa

Arsenal have planned to visit Uganda as part of their pre-season campaign ahead of season 2019/20.

The team was set to visit another African country Nigeria as part of their 2012 pre-season, however, the trip was cancelled due to the security concerns. According to Ugandan sport regulator chairman Bosco Onyik, a new partnership is signed witht he Gunners, as the latters are expected to open an academy for the local young talents, as well as play a pre-season clash there in June 2019. This claim is also tightly related with the confirmation that the Arsenal Foundation partnered with the Family of Hope – a school for children with special educational needs – to build new football grounds in Uganda.
