Arsenal are reportedly preparing a move to sign Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the summer transfer window.
Sokratis is out of contract in 2019 but could still attract a fee of around £17.5m.
The Gunners are in the fight with Manchester United for the 29-year-old’s signature.
However, German outlet Blid are reporting that Arsenal will win the race for Papastathopoulos.
The report claims that Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintant is the man pushing for the deal and that he is in “close contact” with Sokratis’s agent Konstantinos Farras.
